Apple acknowledges iMessage bug

A large number of iOS users have been reporting issues with Apple’s iMessage service, where messages are not being delivered to the other person. The issue was noticed ever since the first public version of iOS 7 released a couple of weeks ago and has been present ever since.

Apple is aware of this issue and they have issued a statement regarding this. Their official statement is as follows:

“We are aware of an issue that affects a fraction of a percent of our iMessage users, and we will have a fix available in an upcoming software update,” Apple said in a statement. “In the meantime, we encourage any users having problems to reference our troubleshooting documents or contact AppleCare to help resolve their issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes impacted users.”

While the statement refers to a “fraction of a percent of our iMessage users”, the reality is that a lot more people than just a fraction are facing this issue. The current solutions range from simply restarting your device to disabling iMessage, resetting your network settings and then enabling iMessage again.

Hopefully, an update will be pushed soon that will fix this issue permanently.
