If your text ads are already getting a high volume of impressions, and you're advertising on the Display Network, your ads might start appearing on Gmail. Gmail can show your ads when your keywords match words used in a person's emails , or if you've added Gmail as a placement to your ad group..
To show your ads on Gmail, you’ll need to use one of the following campaign types:
- "Search & Display Networks - All features"
- "Display Network only – All features"
- "Display Network only – Remarketing"
Add Gmail as a placement
Here's how you can add Gmail as a managed placement to your ad group:
- Select your campaign and ad group.
- Click the Display Network tab.
- Click the Placements tab.
- Click the Change display targeting button.
- Type "mail.google.com" in the text box.
- Click Save to add the placement to your ad group.
